Why We Made a Change
Over the years, members like you have helped us grow.
You’ve told your friends.
You’ve trusted us to support you through big life steps: buying a car, owning a home, starting a business, saving for the future.
But we’ve also heard that not everyone knows what we do, or how we help.
So we put our heads together, talked to our members and community partners, and got to work building:
- a website that’s easier to use
- a logo that better reflects our diversity and connection
- messaging that makes our commitment to Rochester and its people clear
Built for You, With You in Mind
Many of our members come to Genesee after being turned away by other banks—or opting out of cookie-cutter financial services.
Some are just starting out. Others are rebuilding.
Some have never used online banking before.
Many are fighting for more affordable, dignified ways to save, borrow, and participate in a just economy.
We see you. We designed our new website with you in mind.
You’ll now find:

New Symbol, Same Spirit
We’ve chosen a colorful pinwheel to reflect who we are. Each piece is unique, just like our members. Together, those pieces move with energy, momentum, and connection.
We are a community. A cooperative. A place where your story matters, and your goals are taken seriously.
You might also notice our new colors: bold greens and deep blues.
These colors represent growth, stability, and trust, the foundation we’ve always stood on.
The Words We Use, and Why They Matter
There’s a lot of language in the world of finance that leaves people out and misses the big picture.
Phrases like “low risk” or “strong portfolio” don’t mean much when what you really need is someone who listens, understands, and helps you move forward.
We’ve always spoken plainly.
Now we’re doing it in a more intentional and consistent way.
Because at Genesee, your credit score isn’t your story.
The money in your account doesn’t decide your value.
What matters is your life, your goals, and what you want to build next.
